Handcrafted metal bags

I don’t if you are aware of the current rave about metal bags or not. But we have good news that our Thaqafah will have a permanent collection of the metal beauties.

They are available at a promo price, and are going fast. They can be worn formally or casually, depending on what you’re wearing.

Peshawaris for ladies just for Thaqafah

So we finally got the design worked out for the peshawari sandals. I didn’t share this before, but the first pair of peshawaris that were constructed were square at the toe and they looked too manly.

For those who don’t know, these sandals are worn by men in India and Pakistan, but for the first time they have been styled for women in a feminine way.

Others have tried, but the sandals still have that square toe that makes it look exactly the men’s sandals.

Our collection will come in a pleasant array of colors and beautiful stitching, and will be ready for purchase as soon as they arrive.

Tunisia has got it going on folks

Soooooo, turns out that Tunisia also has babouche that they produce as well. I have to tell you that these nations have some of the flyest footwear in the world. Right up there with Turkey, Spain, India,Italy, Portugal, and Mexico, in my shoe making masters book.

The designer world has been scoping and copying these styles for years, and it’s time to introduce them to the world at large for who and what they are and come from.

That is what Thaqafah is all about, aiding the artisans of these countries to bring the old with a new modern twist, along with keeping the shoes trendy without compromising tradition and quality.
Love love these shoes (la sigh).

The traditional ballet flat huh?

Ok so we came accross these beautiful Moroccan shoes/ballet flats. They are absolutely geogeous and look very comfortable indeed. We have got to get to Morocco and see their souk and bazaar.
I hear that the craftsmanship that they put in their shoes are totally amazing. I need to see it in person in order to get the full affect….‪#‎travelgoals‬

New Style India

I say, one has got to love fashion inspiration from around the globe. Why you might ask? The answer is simply that when citizens of the world connect and merge with each other then we get beautiful fusion from art, to food.

I happened to be admiring some a Indian mojari shoes one fine afternoon while surfing the net. Then I did a little searching on my favorite social network Instagram, and decided to hashtag# mojari to see what fashion divas out there were rocking with their colorful footwear.

Low and behold, I discovered a well established and modern brand called Fizzy Goblet, dishing out quirky yet chic designs, but still in the original mojari style.

I absolutely adore these slip on ballerina type flats, made from 100% leather from start to finish, with special attention to small details that will make the wearer feel super feminine and dainty at the same time.

I love them, so I’m sure you’ll love them too. The leather mojaris come in so many colors, and prints that make you want to buy them all…….

Enjoy
